1986年のテレビ放送以来、ドラマに加え、劇場版7作品が製作されてきた、舘ひろし＆柴田恭兵主演の人気シリーズ8年ぶりの劇場作品。舘、柴田、浅野温子、仲村トオルらシリーズおなじみのメンバーに加え、ヒロインとして土屋太鳳が出演。
